How often should I rotate IPs with a local proxy service?

I’ve been testing a local proxy for a small project and noticed the IP settings can affect consistency. I don’t want to change them too often without a reason. How often do you usually rotate IPs when testing a local proxy service?

I’d say it depends on what you’re testing rather than following a fixed schedule. For basic development work, I usually keep the same IP long enough to get consistent results, then change it when I need to compare another location or connection. Rotating constantly can make results harder to interpret. I’d keep notes about each test so you know which IP produced which result. That makes the process much easier to review later.

Re: How often should I rotate IPs with a local proxy service

I found that keeping the setup stable during one test gave me cleaner comparisons, while changing the IP between separate test runs was more useful. For anyone working with an ad verification proxy this page was useful as general background. I’d personally rotate only when there’s a clear testing reason, such as comparing locations or checking whether results remain consistent. Recording the timing, location, and test conditions also helps make the results easier to understand.
